Learning We learn, then we change. This is very different to what is often enacted, on the distorted assumption that learning is mostly to do with how to implement the change. Learning is alive, changing, adaptive and dynamic. We learn with one another and together, especially at depths far deeper than the contents themselves. We can enable learning, as readily as we disable learning. How we choose to frame or reframe is thus fateful, for our selves and those we relate with as colleagues and customers. Real learning is choiceful and immensely powerful. We learn and enable learning when we are felt to be fully present and engaged with one other. We learn best by doing, and reflecting appreciatively, with those who have experienced what we have done. When we choose to learn together we create immense possibility for and with one another. For the individuals, teams, and organisations that we work with we enable learning by encouraging and supporting the exploration of how decisions are made and enacted. We start in the present, what they are rooted in, and how the current structure and boundaries constrain and restrict sharing of the information vital to making high quality decisions, rapidly implementing them, and then reviewing their consequences. We encourage reflective understanding of how that present has come about, and what choices for the future it may be expected to facilitate or smother. Alethia works with the diverse and rich skills and abilities that are present to create sustainable learning and change. We passionately believe there is an immense capacity for learning present in individuals and organisations. All our experiences and practice reinforce this. Alethia works to enable the most difficult and challenging issues to be acknowledged, expressed, and understood by the individual, team, and system. We believe deeply, that sustainable, and self-sustaining change only follows from real learning. Learning is most real and enduring when it is rooted in the ground of the individual, team, or organisation; where the experiences make sense, and are honestly acknowledged. We particularly seek to enable the complex issues that are integral to Mergers, Acquisitions, and Restructurings, to be understood and adapted by those they effect, as well as by those instigating them. We seek to be the change we wish to see in the world and encourage those we work with to explore and enquire what is at the heart of how they lead ...and the likely outcomes that may emerge from those values.
